A gift for Kirby

I'm sure you all remember Kirby who relocated to Wisconsin.....

Well of course I had to make him a Christmas present! I hope he loves his new teddy bear!

Holiday shopping?

Holiday shopping? These guys are in the gift shop at the Baggage Building Arts Centre at marina park. Great for the kid in all of us!

There's a few of my large guys, medium monsters and Gnome-ball ornaments/pocket pals. These are a unique gift.... I currently make less than 15 of each size of these a year for sale.
All handmade, local in Thunder Bay!

Made for gentle play out of acrylic washable yarn (spot clean with a wet cloth and air dry) and stuffed with hypoallergenic poyfil stuffing. All limbs are attached during the knitting process - not sewn on afterwards - for better security. Eyes are attached with large locking safety washers inside. Not Recommended for children under 3 years old.

Most of my large size creatures come with a mix of accessories such as legwarmers, hat, bandana, cross body bag with mini monster and journal in it.

BBAC gift shop hours are T-F 11-5 and weekends 12-4. Closed Mondays

Vogue Magazine Knitting conference

I spent a few days in Minneapolis at the Vogue Magazine Knitting Live conference at the beginning of November taking classes and honing my skills, plus attending lectures, shopping the specialized marketplace and picking up new tools of the trade, and of course enjoying the company of friends and the City's famous Eat Street.

I met one of my idols, the super talented toy designer Susan B. Anderson and was fortunate to enjoy a great toy making class taught by her. This is my little Hedgie from class.

I also got to take classes by two other Fantastic designers I've wanted to meet.... Gudrun Johnston and Mary Jane Mucklestone.

Prior to the conference a gala party was held at Steven Berg's shop, Stevenbe's. It was so much fun meeting dozens of local designers and dyers..... and of course more shopping. Steven and his staff know how to throw a party!

The Minneapolis yarn bomber known as Knitteapolis dropped a few pieces around the convention centre.

And of course, as I said..... hanging out with friends was the best part!

Restocking!

I have a few new little guys heading to the shop at the Baggage Building Arts Centre at marina park. About 3" tall, they are great stocking stuffers or attached a string and they make a cute ornament.

World Wide Knit in Public Day

We had a great turn out for our local World Wide Knit in Public Day event at the Baggage Building Arts Centre at marina park today.

Teaching in Rochester, MN

I had the wonderful opportunity to teach a couple workshops on toy making at ZK fibre arts retreat in Rochester, Minnesota last week. It was so much fun to share my skills and meet others interested in learning to create unique and whimsical pieces.
